feeling Overwhelmed?

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Planning = Freedom

How many of you feel overwhelmed?   The list of things to do is probably a mile long and you often you wonder “Where do I start?”  “When does it end?”

The first thing we need to identify is why you feel overwhelmed.  It’s a fact, the number one reason people feel overwhelmed is due to Lack of planning

Followed by:

  1. Distraction by bight shiny objects
  2. Getting caught up in the Bionic Woman/Man Syndrome
  3. Working IN their business rather than ON their business
  4. Poor time management

To go from overwhelmed to mission accomplished, you need strategies.

Here are some key steps:

  1. Know what is most important to you
  2. Put your success plan in WRITING
  3. Integrate your success plan into your calendar
  4. Stay focused on your spa plan

The goal is to go from feeling overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, and stressed to having clarity, organization, happiness, financial security, and most of all, peace of mind! Isn’t this what most people want?

The first strategy is to identify what is most important to you.

Have you thought of this lately? What is most important to you?  Is it making more money?

Is it having more time? Or is it more freedom?  What do you want?

Let those reasons be the driving force to get you out of feeling overwhelmed.

It’s not enough to dream about it, write it down.  Make a prioritized list.

After determining your priorities, then it is time to commit to change.  Have you read the book “Who Moved My Cheese?”  Change is hard.  But if you want different results, you need to do things differently and that requires change!

Have a spa business plan

The second strategy is to write out the plan.  Many people say, “I have my spa plan. It’s in my head.” or “I know what I need to do.”  The important thing about having a plan is to share it with your team.  You need to put it down on paper.  Have you used Mind Mapping? It’s a great method to outline your plan and identify the main aspects of each part.  Yes, it will take time to write it out, but you will have clarity once you complete it. You will know exactly what you need to do and when.  You will kiss that overwhelmed feeling goodbye!  Just completing the plan will provide you with a great feeling of accomplishment.

The third strategy is to put “Microsoft Outlook” to good use.  Outlook is a great tool. If you are not using it, you should start now.  It allows you to manage your time and block the necessary time to complete each task within your plan.  Once it is on your calendar, you will block the time to complete the task in a timely manner.  You will feel good about your accomplishments rather than feeling like there is not enough hours in the day.

The fourth strategy is to stay focused on the spa plan.  You’ve got to be consistent with your actions.  Set your intentions and make the right choices.  Don’t allow distractions to steer you away from what you are trying to accomplish.  Many people practice “the open door policy.”  My opinion is if you don’t want to get anything accomplished, keep your door open.  But if you want to work on your business; you better not only close your door, but also LOCK it!

It takes 21 days to turn a new action into a habit. You will feel uncomfortable at first, and that’s ok. It’s part of the necessary change process.

The fifth strategy is to know the value of your time.  Ask yourself, should I be doing this?  Or can someone else do this task so I can be working on my business?  Is this task going to get me closer to accomplishing my goals? If not, don’t do it.  Know when to say NO!

There is a MAJOR difference between busy work and productive work.  Productivity leads you out of overwhelmed.

Note:  New results require new habits. Planning and productivity equals money in the bank!
